When due to ship stern or space limitations and other hydrodynamic parameters using of propeller with large diameter is not possible, ducted propeller system be used, which increases the thrust and efficiency. Other features of this propulsion system are uniform flow and maneuverability. In this article hydrodynamic performance of duct propeller using MPVL code development is studied. The vortex distribution is done on the surface elements along chord-wise and cross-flow effect is neglected. The gaps between the tip of propeller blade and duct, including special parameters that are considered in this analysis and analytical methods have been used to eliminate singularities. Hydrodynamic efficiency of duct propeller in several different advance coefficients examined under open water condition and increases efficiency is shown between 10-15% compared to conventional propellers.
