Abstract:
This study was conducted to examine the effect of English speaking environment on increasing the speaking accuracy of Iranian pre- intermediate EFL learners. The benefits of instruction on learners' production and awareness of speaking proficiency has been investigated. The subjects of this study were 45 pre-intermediate EFL learners aged within the range of 10 to 13 years. The sample was comprised of 23 female learners studying at Golha bilingual (Persian- English) private school and 22 girls who are studying at Sama monolingual (Persian) governmental in Tonekabon, Iran. They were learning English in an EFL context. The data were collected using a set of interview questions. The data then were rated using two experts. In order to analyze the data t-test was performed with mean level of students' scores as dependent variable and instruction as a grouping variable. The findings revealed that Iranian EFL learners performed better in experimental group.
