Abstract:

In this study, catalyst cracking process of the gasoil to gasoline in the fluidized bed reactor has been simulated and modeled based on the single and binary phase mathematical models. In order to study the chemical reactions, the feed and product components have been categorized into ten parts. The continuity equations for each of the ten parts in the bubble and suspended phases have been developed with using a volumetric element from the fluidized bed reactor. Obtained equations from each part have been solved simultaneously with the fourth order Runge-Kutta method. Comparison between the simulated and experimental results for a pilot-scale reactor shows that single phase model is unable to predict the conversion yield in the reactor while the obtained data from binary phase model are in good agreement with the experimental results
