Screening of antifungal activity of medicinal plants in Kerman province

Aflatoxins are carcinogenic mycotoxins produced by some Aspergillus species in a wide range of agricultural commodities. To eliminate aflatoxins from food many methods haveemployed, in this study we use from water extract of medicinal plants for growth prevention of aflatoxigenic fungi .we used from 22 native medicinal plant species, and their antifungal compounds were studied. Our recent researches indicate that the water extract of Dianthus barbatus proved to be of the highest antifungal activity compared to the other extracts. Dianthus barbatus extract with concentrations of 3, 5, 7 and 9% (v/v %) showed an inhibitory effect against Aspergillus flavus and A.parasiticus during14 days
