Abstract:
Study of the microstructure of the weld metal and the weld adjacent areas on the weld ability of metals and alloys is effective. The aim of this paper is to investigate the microstructure of the dissimilar welding between super alloy Inconel and stainless steel L. For this purpose, alloys like Inconel , and are used as a filler metal. Two methods of Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) was used to connect the components. Welded parts after polishing was etched (solution of HNO - HCL ) and then microstructure of the weld metal, heat-affected zone and base metals by optical microscope was examined. Also, in order to identify new sediments, phases and probable cracking, used scanning electron microscope (SEM) equipped with EDS analysis, and the results were reviewed and analyzed
