Abstract:

This paper coccerns the development of the virtual engine concept using advance CAE methodologies involving FEA, CFD, and FD, FV, in 1-D, 2-D and 3-D. The methods developed for the virtual engine include techniques in meshing for CFD and FEA. Combustion, Cycle simulation and thermodynamics, in cylinder flow and combustion. Fuel injection systems and spray simulation, exhaust after treatment, Tribology, NVH and durability. These methods have exact synergy with vehicle simulation, wich include, vehicle thermal management, passenger comfort simulation, and fuel tank filling multi-phase flow, vehical aerodynamics and vehicle NVH. Lastly analysis procedures for, flooding simulation, aircraft aerodynamics, CFD flow around buildings, CFD of domestic appliance, MBD power generation simulations and test & development methodologies have been descrideb within.
