Abstract:

In this study, the geometrical properties (length, width, thickness, geometric mean diameter, sphericity, surface area), volumetrical properties (fruit mass, fruit volume, bulk and fruit density, porosity), colour characteristics (L*, a*,b*, Chroma, hue angle) and chemical properties (pH, soluble solid content, total acidity) as affected by maturity (semi- maturity,full maturity) and fruit size (big, medium, small) of Malus floribunda fruits were investigated. The geometric mean diameter and fruit mass were changed from 27.01 to 27.44 mm; 10.86 to 11.67 g according to the maturity level of Malus floribunda fruits, whereas, thegeometric mean diameter and fruit mass were varied from 22.89 to 31.69 mm and from 6,46 to 16,69 g according to fruit size differences, respectively. Chemical properties such as pH,soluble solid content, and total acidity ranged from 3.20 to 3.28; 12.89 to 14.06%; 1.00 to 3.20% for Malus floribunda fruit maturity level, respectively.
