خلاصه مقاله:
A novel urea-formaldehyde microcapsule containing a reactive solution of dicumyl peroxide dissolved in an acetate solvent was synthesized through oil-in-water emulsion. The effect of agitation rate on the microcapsule size and stability were investigated using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. It was observed that by increasing the agitation rate, the microcapsule size decreased so that the smallest size of about 25 μm was achieved in 800 rpm. However, the stability of the microcapsules increased through increasing the agitation rate. By using smaller microcapsules in different applications, a higher weight fraction of microcapsules is required. Therefore, an optimum agitation rate should be chosen in order to fulfill both stability and convenient size for different applications such as self-healing applications. Finally, the microcapsule synthesized at 450 rpm showed rational stability and optimum particle size
