Abstract:
Cisplatin, commonly used in chemotherapy, is a small molecule (300 g.mol-1) and is inherently associated with lack of tumor selectivity and short blood circulation time, which cause various toxic side effects. The purpose of the present study was to prepare a Cisplatin conjugate to reduced toxicity. Solid inclusion complexes of Cisplatin/β-CD were prepared in 1:1 molar ratio under sonic energy method. Inclusion complex formation was evaluated by comparing the Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectra of the solid inclusion complex with Cisplatin and β-CD. FT-IR experiments provided data indicating that the amino groups of Cisplatin were involved in the inclusion complex formation. The results of X-ray diffraction (XRD) also emphasized inclusion complex formation
