Graft copolymerization of POSS nanoparticles onto the polyurethane surfaces using LF plasma was characterized by means of water drop contact angle measurements, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis(EDXA). The POSS grafted surfaces exhibited higher hydrophobicity in comparison to unmodified surface. In the SEM micrographs the presence of POSS particles was observed, and the EDX analysis verified the presence and good distribution of Si atoms on the polyurethane surfaces. The obtained surface-modified films are appropriate for biomedical application; due to the good bulk properties of polyurethane and great biostability of POSS nanoparticles
