Abstract:
This paper presents new insights in the effects of ethylene-propylene-diene and dynamic curing with sulfur on the properties of low-density polyethylene (LDPE). The results showed that both mechanical and thermal properties improve by curing of dispersed ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymers in the LDPE matrix. A superior thermal stability and higher interfacial bonding between the LDPE matrix and dispersed ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer of vulcanized LDPE/ethylene-propylene-deiene terpolymer blends was found to that of unvulcanized blends
