Abstract:
The surfaces of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) single crystals have been designed by homo and copolymer self-assembling. The characteristics of different morphologies were detectable by atomic force microscopy (AFM). The characteristics of self-assembled surfaces differed in various growth conditions. Although the surface morphologies in dilute growth conditions divided in matrix-dispersed and random, in concentrated states only co-continuous patterns were detected. When the molecular weights of crystalline blocks in constituent diblock copolymers were different, a convergence was observed in substrate thicknesses of bared and brush-covered phase regions. This convergence was intensified by increasing the molecular weight differences
