Effect of SEBS-g-MA Incorporation on the Morphology Type and Size of Dispersed Particles in PA6/SAN/SEBS Ternary Blends

This research describe an investigation on the effect of SEBS-g-MA incorporation and mixing sequence on the morphological properties of Polyamide 6/Poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile)/Poly(styrene-b-(ethylene-co-butylene)-b-styrene) ternary blend. To catch this goal, three different samples with varying concentration ratio of SEBS/SEBS-g-MA were prepared. Phase structure and size of dispersed particles were studied. Results showed that, while blending of PA6/SAN and SEBS resulted in the formation of core/shell morphology, SEBS-g-MA incorporation changed the phase structure to two minor phases dispersed separately. Observations were analyzed based on the change in the interfacial tension of pair polymers.
