خلاصه مقاله:
The fibers prepared, Old Corrugated Container (OCC), was consecutively treated by polyelectrolyte multi-layer (PEM) of cationic starch (CS) and anionic starch (AS). Hand sheets (60 g/m2) were made from treated fibers and their characteristics were evaluated. The results showed that anionic layer decreases the bonding ability between fibers, but cationic layer induces adjacent layers to diffuse each other contributes higher adhesion between fibers and more strength in formed papers. In addition, successive layering of CS/AS provides more electrostatic adsorption of CS on the recycled fibers resulting in modifying the electrochemical properties without deterioration of fiber structure. In CS/AS multilayer systems, unlike for refining, paper strength has dramatically increased without significantly increase in density. This result indicated that there is a promising possibility to modify the surface properties of OCC fibers via CS/AS multilayer possessing acceptable output as beating treatment for improvement of fiber bonding and strength properties
