We report on the photovoltaic performance of bulk heterojunction polymer solar cells using synthesis poly [2-methoxy-5- (2’-ethyl-hexyloxy)-1,4-phenylene vinylene] (MEH-PPV) and C60 as electron donor and electron acceptor, respectively. The polymer solar cells consisted of an indium tin oxide (ITO) transparent electrode, a poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) hole-transport layer, a MEH-PPV:C60 active layer and an aluminum (Al) electrode. The effects of solvent and different compositions of donor:acceptor on the output parameters of polymer solar cells were studied. The fabricated device containing 2:1 weight ratio of MEH-PPV:C60 in 1,2-dichlorobenzene solvent showed the best fill factor (FF) value of 0.28 with a short-circuit current (Jsc) of 0.15 mA/cm2 and open-circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.5 V.
