Chemically modified starch paste (CMSP) with Isophthalic acid (IFA) is investigated as a reinforcing filler of rubber via mixing with natural rubber/Butadiene rubber (NR/BR) compound. Fine dispersion of starch and interfacial interaction between starch and NR/BR phase are two main goals of the application of CMSP with interal IFA grafts. The rheological properties were investigated. The effect of CMSP/Carbon black (CB) on the cure characterization of NR/BR blend was similar to that of treated by CB. Surface morphology of CB and CMSP were checked by means of scanning electron microscope (SEM), and their IR spectra were taken and compared
