Knowledge on the molecular weight and degree of deacetylation of its samples is essential for its applications and molecular weight is the main factor affecting properties ofchitosan [1]. This work focuses on reaching complete deacetylation without degrading the polymeric chain of chitosan during the process. In this study, a method was developed for chitosan preparation in order to control the molecular weight with high DD. Subsequently, a novel database is offered to prepare chitosan with different molecular weights and degrees of deacetylation through multistage trearment.
