Dynamic temperature sweep experiments on blend of high- and lowdensity polyethylene

The effect of temperature on dynamic viscoelastic properties of high density polyethylene (HDPE) and low density polyethylene (LDPE) blends withdifferent weight fractions was discussed in the molten state by means of small amplitude oscillatory shear rheometry through dynamic temperature sweepexperiment which is a useful method to examine phase stability in polymer blends. The experimental data upon cooling showed smooth variation instorage and loss modulus over the wide temperature range, and no discontinuity in the smoothly varying modulii-temperature relation is observed. So, thecontinuity of the slop observed for G΄ and G˝ data versus temperature for the blends can be interpretedas the stability of the phase behavior in the blendsduring dynamic temperature sweep test. Similar behavior is observed upon heating from 150 to 270oC for the HDPE/LDPE blend.
