There have been several attempts on development of generic procedure for molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) preparation. Up to date, there have been a growing number ofreports in the computational design [1] unlike the statistical design in the field of MIP. In this work we used three-levelfull factorial design of experience and the selected factors for optimization were the amounts of methacrylic acid (MAA) and trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TRIM) to assess theutility of chemometrics in the optimization of selected significant variables in the preparation of a MIP forDiclofenac sodium (DS) as template, actually this design was used to investigate the combined influence of these twoindependent variables on rebind capacity (Q), imprintingfactor (ΔQ) and predict the optimum Template (T): Functional monomer (M): Cross linker (X) ratio for the MIP, hence Statistical experimental design was performed using a software DESIGN EXPERT version 6.
