Electrospinning is a very useful technique for producing polymeric nanofibers by applying electrostatic forces. Collagen and GAGs, as constituents of native tissues, arewidely utilized to fabricate scaffolds to use as an active analogue of native ECM.[1] Gelatin is a natural polymerwhich has similar structure to collagen with less sensitivity todegradation during electrospinning process. Studies have reported that gelatin activates the macrophages, shows highhemostatic effect and does not cause antigenicity. Therefore, it would be a good idea to electrospun the blend ofgelatin and GAG to fabrication proper nanofibrous scaffold for tissue engineering.[2,3] In this work, nanofibrous structure of gelatin/GAG blend were fabricated and the effect of appliedvoltage on the morphology and mean diameter of the obtained nanofibers were investigated.
