Abstract:
Chemical resistant nanofiltration membrane attracts lot of attention due to its high mechanical strength, good thermal and chemical stability in harsh condition. A unique feature ofpolyimides (PI) is their chemical reaction with amines, which results in the opening of some of the imide groups to formorthodiamide functionalities [1]. This reaction may be used to introduce functional groups onto the PI membrane surface bychoosing suitable amines. In particular, by reacting with di- ormulti-functional amines, PIs can be cross-linked such that the membranes show improved separation efficiency and solventresistance. In this study, polyethylenimine (PEI) and triethylenetetramine were used as a modifying agents to improvement of membrane performance and the effect of annealing temperatures, organic solvent were evaluated
