Morphology-Mechanical Properties Relationship in PP/PC/SEBS Ternary Blends

The morphology of a ternary system is a function of several factors like composition, viscosity ratio, interfacial tension, shear rate, elasticity ratio and processing condition [1]. Inprevious works, the 70/15/15 PP/PC/SEBS ternary blends compatibilized by SEBS-g-MAH showed core-shellmorphology while altering the SEBS/SEBS-g-MAH weight ratio [2,3]. Also, tensile properties showed to be dependent to the mentioned ratio. In case of 50/50 component ratio, theSEBS formed as a thick shell on PC in the presence of maleated SEBS. In another word, employing an optimizedcontent of compatibilizer led to desired mechanical properties. In the current work, the blend composition changed to 80/10/10, wherein the optimized 50/50 ratio kept unchanged.Consequently, tensile properties compared with those of 70/15/15 systems
