Crazing and shear yielding are two competitive deformation mechanisms in polymers and either one may dominate depend upon the properties of the matrix.The transition from crazingto shear deformation in polymers has been studied by many researchers. For example, Weidish et al. [1]showed that thereexistsa transition of deformation fromcrazing to shear yielding with the change of moleculearchitecture. Jansen et al. [2]pointed out that the transition from crazing to shear yieldingtook placeas the rubber content increased in rubber modified PMMA. Similar observation was reported with the change incomposition in ABS/PVC blends [3]. The main objective of the current work is to study the probability of transition indeformation micromechanism from crazing to shear yielding inpolypropylene (PP)/high density polyethylene (HDPE) nanocomposite in the different stages of deformation under tensile loading
