Kenaf fiber is very strong and does not fibrillate easily. It has a wide range of applications such as rope, twine, rugs, chair covers and papers.Handmade paper can be prepared using Kenaffibre through chemical process. The purpose of a chemical pulping process is to break down thechemical structure of lignin and render it soluble inthe cooking liquor, so that it may be washed from the cellulose fibers. Because lignin holds the plantcells together, chemical pulping releases the fibers and generates pulp. The pulp can also be bleached to produce white paper for printing, writing and painting [1-2].
