Abstract:
The present study aimed to investigate if the level of EFL teachers’ social intelligence had any significant relationship with their level of burnout. To this aim, two questionnaires namely, Tromso Social Intelligence Scale (Silvera, Martinussein, and Dahl, 1002) and Maslach Burnout Inventory (Maslach & Jackson 2892, 2891), were distributed among 229 Iranian high school EFL teachers teaching in South Khorasan province during 1022-1021 academic year. Data were analyzed using Correlation and Regression. The analyses of the data indicated that there was a statistically significant positive correlation between EFL teachers’ social intelligence and their level of burnout (r = 074.8, n = 229, p = 07002). The results were discussed and the implications were made.
