Environmental pollution and heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium and lead caused a serious and widespread problem on human beings in the world. Unfortunately, formation and discovery of these metals in the last fifty years has increased exponentially the use of heavy metals in products and industry processes. In our daily life, indirectly through a combination of various biological compounds, food, water and air humans are at the risk of contamination of these metals. Heavy metals are the main constituent of the earth s crust. Since these metals are not readily break down and disappear, considered as a stable environment contaminants. Pollution with heavy metals are the major environmental problems in human societies and also endanger public health. Among the heavy metals, lead has special significance. Lead is in the fourth period of the periodic table of elements and it considered as a one of the heavy metals. Lead is a metal with capable of rolling, malleability, ductility and high corrosion resistance as well. The second most widely used industry metal after iron and it is an ore product. Due to the use of lead, there are many reports that environmental pollution caused by it in recent years, chronic lead poisoning is the most important lead disease .The synthesis of drugs for treatment is very important. The objective of this paper is to review the effects of toxicity of lead on different parts of the human body and the environment
