Abstract:

This study aimed to investigate the effect of oral corrective feedback (OCF) types including explicit feedback and implicit feedback on the collocational knowledge ofintermediate Iranian EFL learners. The participants consisted of 56 male and female EFL learners. Three intact classes, including a control group and 2 experimentalgroups, participated in this study. The groups were labeled as explicit group (EG), implicit group (IG), and control group. As the pretest, all the participants were givena collocation test including 30 multiple questions. After that, the EG received oralexplicit feedback and the IG received oral implicit feedback but control group received no feedback. Then, as the posttest, a collocation test was administered. According tothe results, those students in the experimental groups who received OCF outperformed better in posttest than students in control group who received no OCF. The results also indicated that the students in EG outperformed differently in posttest than those in IG.
