Abstract:

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational commitment. The statistical population used in this studycomprised of 379 teachers working at Urmia English institutes. The obtained sample size was 191 to be chosen using stratified sampling. Questionnaire was the main instrument employed to collect the required data. The reliability of questionnaire was calculated as 0.829 usingCronbach alpha coefficient. Making use of descriptive and inferential statistics methods (correlation coefficients), the data were analyzed. The findings of the study revealed that there was a correlation between emotional intelligence and organizational commitmentamong EFL teachers in Iran. This study has implications for policy makers and leadership of educational institutes to identify how organizational leadership could be implemented to improve teaching productivity and enhance performance to achieve a reputable place ininstructional arena.
