Investigation of the Family-Social Factors Affecting the Girls’ Running-away From Home and Its Prevention Strategies

Girls’ running-away from home is investigable in the area of social pathology. This phenomenon has roots in the various factors such as cultural and economic poverty, family problems, divorce and emotional separation of parents, presence of stepfather or stepmother in the family, addiction, and relation with bad friends, forced marriages, and the gap between the generations. This harm, which is detrimental to the mental health of the individual and society, is considered as the breach of the social norms and rules and it is also results from the fear of the guardian, anger at the injustices of parents, and a desire for revenge for the family and social turmoil. The present study is aimed at investigating the family and social factors affecting the girls running-away from home and its negative consequences, and also offering strategies for preventing and reducing this social harm. Prevention of this social harm requires identifying the social-family conflicts.The research method is descriptive and data is collected through libraries. In order to investigate the family-social factors affecting the girls’ running-away from home and its prevention strategies, data is analyzed. According to the obtained results, it can be said that the girls run away from home due to the inability to endure harsh conditions such as violence at home by male relatives, failure in education, lack of family financial resources and in some cases, use of media facilities such as satellite and mobile. Hard conditions and being away from family cause serious damage to their security, independence and personality. Finding prevention strategies leads to the maintenance and revival of the human capital.
