Environmental considerations will probably change automobile fuels from gasoline and gas-oil to hydrogen (as fuel cell) in future. Hydrogen usage in fuel cells generates only harmless water vapor. Another future promisingapplication of hydrogen fuel cells may be in small power plants without any pollutants or greenhouse gasemission. In this study, optimization of salt water electrolysis in parallel-plate electrode channel was done using two evolutionary algorithms: genetic algorithm (GA) and Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA). So, optimum solutions for the maximum molar flow rate production of hydrogen were determined using geneticalgorithm (GA) and Imperialist Competitive Algorithm (ICA). The adjustable parameters are inlet water flowrate and inlet current. The results of optimization show that a maximum hydrogen molar flux of was produced in both cases, in which the inlet water flow rate and inlet current were and respectively.
