Abstract:

This paper aims to investigate, the current research practices in the application of advanced field data acquisition technologies (e.g. 3D Laser Scanning and Radio FrequencyIdentification) for building damage detection after earthquakes. It starts with an overview ofpast research done in the area and outlines the processes required to implement these tools. It provides a discussion on related challenges and presents a discussion on potential applications of these tools. The paper suggests a review for integrating these techniques andBuilding Information Modeling (BIM) to evaluate earthquake damages as a response to the industry’s low productivity rates
