Abstract:
Movement disorders can occur in elderly people that may result in loss of movement skills. One important technique to treat this disorder is rehabilitation including exercises and physical movements. Rehabilitation using computer games is considered as an important way to improve the performance of rehabilitation activities. These serious games by increasing the patients motivation to participate in rehabilitation exercises can result in increasing the rehabilitation efficiency. In this paper, a computer game is designed for the rehabilitation of patients with movement disorders. The main feature of this game is simulating the behavior of patients in the form of visual and haptic feedback at the same time. This paper shows that this method is an effective technique to inform the patients about the accuracy of rehabilitation exercises, and consequently guiding them to correct rehabilitation movements.
