Abstract:

Dyslexia is one of the most common learning disability in children that causes reading difficulties and language problems. Information and communication technologies play an important role in knowledge and skills formation in children with disabilities, due to learning personalization, multisensory approach and content interaction. The potential of augmented reality (AR) to see and experience the real world mixed with virtual objects, present a new method to learn and improve the quality of common education. It can transform the learning procedure into more interactive, multisensory and entertaining approaches. In this study, the literature of research based on augmented reality and its role to educate students with dyslexia is reviewed. Then we suggest a method which uses augmented reality technology as a multisensory learning model. The proposed mobile application lets the subject to see a picture, listen to the corresponding name, and touch it to scatter the phonemes and rearrange them. This mobile application can be extended to various words to improve learning capabilities
