Abstract:

Mg doped graphene oxide (Mg-GO) nanocomposites were synthesized by hydrothermal method. The XRD analysis approved the formation of Mg-GO nanocomposites. The nonlinear optical refraction of Mg doped graphene oxide nanocomposites is investigated by using Z-scan technique with nanosecond Nd:YAG laser at 532 nm. The nonlinear refractive index, n2, for Mg-GO nanocomposites at the laser intensity of 1.1 × 108 W/cm2 was measured to be 1.4 × 10-11 cm2/W. The results show that Mg-GO nanocomposites synthesized by hydrothermal method have negative nonlinearity and these nanocomposites have the potential applications in the nonlinear optical devices.
