Abstract:
In the current paper, model predictive control based on receding horizon method is proposed for controlling the temperature and concentration in two continuous stirred chemical reactor. in this method, considering system model, future behaviour of system output is predicted and control attempt is determined based on desirable objective function under constraints. For applying this method, a predictive control should be designed for non-linear system using receding horizon method. Finally in order to present optimal performance of model predictive control, a proportional-integral controller is designed for the system and then it is compared with predictive control method. Considering obtained results it is observed that model predictive control method is a highly efficient and powerful method for following reference inputs. Also, it is well able to quickly adopt with reference signal changes. Such adoption is done in optimal accuracy and quickly for the selected system.
