Abstract:

Summary: Incorrect understanding of the time-dependent or creep behaviour of rocks and use of unsuitable behaviour models in stability analysis lead to irreparable damages in underground excavation such as mining galleries and stops, road tunnels, types of caverns and cavities storage of natural gas, petroleum fluids, necleus waste disposal and compressed air energy. So, recent several decades, time-dependent or creep behaviour of rocks has been lionized and the different behaviour models of the base of factors influencing on creep behaviour of rocks has been presented. The most important factors influencing on the creep behavior of rock mass include the mineral composition of rock, grain or crystal size, humidity, temperature, time, loading method, loading rate, strain rate, loading cyclic. In this paper, whilst the most important of types unidimentional and multidimentional models related to time-dependent or creep behaviour of rocks are introduced, the capability every models in demonstration each three stages of creep behaviour is also presented.
