Abstract:
In this paper Weight on Bit (WOB) is developed using two well-known fuzzy inference systems, Mamdani and Sugeno procedure for Ahwaz oil field formations. These fuzzy inference systems contain of six series of input and one set of output. Inputs include Rate of Penetration (ROP), Rotation per Minute (RPM), formation type, Mud Weight (MW), Pump Pressure (PP) and pump flow rate, while the output is WOB. The basic difference between these two fuzzy inference methods is investigated and their simulated results are compared for different formations of Ahwaz oil field. It is observed from simulation that if fuzzy rule bases precisely defined, Sugeno fuzzy inference system is more accurate than Mamdani fuzzy inference system for WOB prediction.
