Abstract:
Problems and behaviors in wellbore drilling and completion and reservoir are complicated and usually are not directly accessible. Proper knowledge of stress and pressures in many problems in petroleum industry (especially hydraulic fracturing) is of paramount importance. Using wellbore tests such as SRT, DFIT, MiniFrac, and etc. one can overcome many obstacles in accessing the conditions before a proper hydraulic fracturing (HF) design. Fracture pressure analysis is a technique that can greatly improve the interpretation of pressure tests. In this paper, results of several tests in a wellbore of a gas field in the USA have been used along with fracture pressure analysis techniques to measure parameters of HF. Results are fracture extension pressure, net pressure, closure pressure, etc. and also fluid efficiency implying the fluid loss of a real HF job. The results may be used in design of HF with more accuracy and reliability.
