Abstract:

Research on ZnO and ZnS, widely used semiconductors, has been considerably active in two decades due to its potentially technological applications in various areas such as semiconductors, opto-electronic devices, photocatalysts and luminescence materials. , the Cactus like ZnOxSxnanostructures were successfully prepared by a functional ionic liquid (FIL). The growing conditions of the Cactus like ZnOxSx-1 nanostructures were determined, and then their morphology evolution characteristics were found. The FIL and PH affect the evolution of the morphology of products as well as PL spectra. The chemical structures of product were characterized by PL spectra, EDX, and XRD. A scanning electron micrograph (SEM) was employed to characterize the patterned structure. Enhancement of bandgap in the, the Cactus like ZnOxSx-1 nanostructures, due to morphology effect, was an interesting observation. This also opens up a possibility of using these nanocomposites as deep UV phosphors. The applications of five kinds of the prepared ZnOSX-1 nanophotocatalysts in dye wastewater treatment were evaluated by the degradation of MB dye in wastewater.
