Abstract:

Different nanostructure morphologies were synthesized by the basic sol-gel method using alkoxide precursors at room temperature. Then the gels have been treated by drying at 80 C and calcined at 600 and 800C. The reaction condition has been applied to control the size, structure and phase of the TiO, crystals. A simple method for preparation of belt and rod structures of TiO, has been developed by adjusting the water and pH in hydrolysis and condensation reaction. It has been deduced that the Rw ratio and NaOH concentration play an important role in the morphology and phase structures of the crystals. Increasing the NaOH concentration, majors the formation of the belt structures (Na2TiO3), while TiO2 nano rods are the main product at low NaOH concentrations. Morphology, nanostructure size and shape, phase evaluation, structure of the products and thermal behavior of the samples were investigated by FE-SEM, XRD and DTA.
