Abstract:
In this research, Fe-WC composite was successfully synthesized by injecting WC-Nano structure powders in to the molten 70Cr, Steel. Microtungsten carbides was ball milled with 300rpm speed and 10:1 ball to powder weight ratio under argon atmosphere for 50 hours to produce WC-Nano structure powder. The main grain size of 25nm was obtained for milled WC on the basis of XRD profile analysis. Steel sample with 0 and 2.5 weight percentage of nano structure WC were prepared via centrifugal molding. Microstructure was studied by scanning electron microscope. EDX indicated WC dispersion in steel matrix. Wear resistance test clearly showed that in the sample which include tungsten carbide, Wear resistance was improved.
