Abstract:
The copper-based Metal-Organic Framework (MOF), referred to as MIL-53-Cu, has been obtained under hydrothermal conditions as adsorbent for the storage of methane. After characterization ofsamples, methane adsorption measured by volumetric method. N.-adsorption studies of MIL-53-Cu at 77K reveal a BET surface area 1115 m.g. Methane adsorption studies at 298K and 30bar show that MIL-53-Cu exhibits an absolute methane-adsorption capacity of 8.52mmol.g . The use of copper opens now the way for the synthesis and characterization of new porous solids with potential application.
