Abstract:

High purity (99.99%) nano-size Cr2O3 was produced first by alkaline melt of chromite ore and preparing sodium dichromate and then by reaction between sodium dichromate and sulfur. morphology of particles was investigated by SEM analysis at different conditions. In addition, by using XRD purity of particles was evaluated. The average size of particles was 90-148nm. Nano particles showed loosely agglomerated structure. The synthesized Cr2O3 nano particles showed smaller size and lower degree of agglomeration in comparison with those of commercial products.
