Abstract:

In this work, the zinc oxide nanoparticles were synthesized via solid state route in presence and absence of surfactants at room temperature. The obtained samples were characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction OXRD) and emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). Starting materials were zinc acetate, sodium hydroxide and CTAB, SDS, Triton X100 as surfactants. Results indicated that the samples were spherical in morphology with diameters of 50-100 mm. This synthetic method provides a facile and low-cost route for the synthesis of nanoparticles zinc oxide. The optical properties of the samples were investigated by UV-vis spectroscopy and photoluminescence (PL) spectrometer. The PL spectra of prepared zinc oxide revealed an UV emission at 396 nm and blue emission at 418, 443 and 493 nm. PL spectrum is an effective way to study the electronic structure, optical and photochemical properties of semiconductor materials.
