Abstract:

TiO2-Clay sepoxy nanocomposites were synthesized by shear mixing followed by ultrasonic to improvement of the dispersion of nanoparticles in matrix. The microstructures of the nanocomposites were characterized by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It was found that nanoclay has been highly exfoliated and uniformly dispersed in the resulting nanocomposites. Water uptake of each nanocomposites system with different nanoparticles content were determined by gravimetric measurements over a period of time. From these analyses it can be concluded which combinations has lower water uptake.
