Protection of water resources is one of the most important issues that should be considered. Hydraulic structures such as dams, canals, etc. are used to control water resources. In all hydraulic structure the foundation are exposed to seepage thus it cause of failure the structures so it is the most important issue in design of hydraulic structures. Designing cutoff is a good method for reduce seepage. This matter simply could effects on environment and dams efficiency. In this article water seepage from a hypothetical dam was analyzed with three cut-off to find best place for maximum water seepage reduction. Ultimately, seepage reduced about 96 percent.
