Abstract:

Analysis of water distribution networks (WDNs) may be considered as one the most essential steps in managing pressurized water network facilities. The need for improving different methods for solving pipe networks has provided an active research area in the corresponding and many studies have been conducted in this regards. In essence, different methods for analyzing WDNs may be classified into three methods including loop corrector, Q-based and h-based methods. In this paper, twenty four new loop corrector methods with third-order of convergence are presented. Despite the original loop corrector method, i.e., Hardy Cross method, these new methods theoretically have one higher order of convergence. The performances of these new methods and the original one are compared by solving a simple pipe network selected from literature using twenty initial guesses under the steady state condition. The results indicate that seven schemes out of twenty four ones have convergence problems while the rest improve the convergence rate in comparison with the original Hardy-Cross method.
