Schools are intended to provide a comfortable and stimulating learning environment. They are different from other types of building because of their intermittent use (computers center, technology benches and scientific laboratory equipment, which has been increased significantly in recent years.), density of occupation and the wide range of activities carried out. Designs that embrace energy efficiency need cost no more to build, and can cost significantly less to run, than more conventional educational buildings. In This paper, an energy efficient design using Atrium for a school in the district 22 in Tehran has been investigated using CFD modeling. It is shown that this concept has considerable benefits for a school and for the wider community due to its reduction in required ventilation in all seasons.
