Abstract:

Natural disasters are effective factors in the determining the way people live inshort time and even long time after the crisis. The earthquake is one of the mostimportant natural disasters that can leave very harmful effects, if the necessarypreparations for reducing damage are not made. Iran is one of the greatestseismicity areas in the world, as many residential areas are at risk of earthquakes.Mahabad is a city with a relative risk of earthquakes that has no predictedprovisions and the crisis management at the executive and predictive level has notdone anything so far. The pattern of this scheme as a method for reducing thedamages and losses caused by the earthquake and also the possibility of efficientmanaging the crisis is to design the Earthquake Park for Mahabad. However, sustainable development model is one of the main topics in architectural designwhich has been considered as one of the main principles in the designing in thisproject. This paper by posing the question, according to the performance valuesof earthquake Park in crisis situations (before the earthquake, during theearthquake and after the earthquake), which features, spatial characteristics andperformance, the design of this place should have from architectural view triesto provide a functional plan upon crisis in the main areas of the architecture andsubsidiary landscape architecture, based on the principles of green architecturedesign, as the primary purpose.
