خلاصه مقاله:
According to the presence of moisture in various feed streams and the necessity of moisture removal in order to prevent hydrate formation and its malicious implications, dehydration systems have a remarkable contribution in diverse industries. Different prevalent methods for dehydration are presented by designers and licensors, while each method has its own privileges and disadvantages. In the past, designers used to apply the most stringent method regardless of its effectiveness and the level of its energy consumption. However, due to ascending trends of energy costs during recent years in Iran and the Middle East, choosing the most efficient method with maximum energy saving and minimum energy consumption has been taken into a substantial consideration. In this research, a comprehensive mathematical modeling is implemented to compare energy saving in Iran’s industries on the basis of a standard air stream using three prevalent dehydration methods consisting of (1) condensation by cooling (2) absorption by triethylene glycol (3) adsorption by molecular sieve 3A and 4A. The results reveals that dehydration with molecular sieve 3A has the maximum energy saving compared to other dehydration methods. In addition, the combination of dehydration methods (condensation and molecular sieve 3A) can decrease energy consumption to the minimum possible level
